Introducing a new type of Equaarus found deep inside crystal caves.
The Frostwyrm Breath potion has an effect on the Equ with giving her very light blue eyes, a foggy breath, Ice shards around the fetlocks and knees and the potion also effected the crystals- turning them to ice. The Cave Equaarus are slightly smaller than a normal Equ, but they are much more hardy and strong. The Cave Equaarus has a shiny coat, almost as if they are made of diamonds themselves, and their manes and tails sparkle in the slightest amount of light. The giant crystals they carry are surprisingly light and are sought after many of Agrippas' jewelery crafters. The crystals can come in any color and are almost transparent. In pitch-black areas, the crystals will faintly glow with the hue of their base color. Cave Equaarus have the ability to see perfectly in the dark but are sensitive to sunlight. Crystals form around the shoulders and rump and many can grow. For stallions, the more and bigger crystals they have the better chance they have to attract a mate. For mares, the crystals around the rump tend to break off during breeding. the stub will grow a new one. However, this can take years. For each new crystal the Equua grows marks another year of it's life. It is unclear how the Cave Equaarus obtained such beauty, but The ancient Greeks believed that diamonds were parts from a star that fell on earth or that they were the tears of gods. They also believed that diamonds were a heavenly fire, which reflected, signifying the eternal flame of love. The arrows of Cupid (son of Venus) were dipped in diamonds and gave magic powers. Many believe that one of the first wild herds of Equaarus drank the tears of the gods and were gifted their beauty. Being attracted to their shiny coats, harpies chased the herd until they ran to the safety of the caves and never came out. They adapted well to the environment but out in the sun it will be easy for them to get sunburns!
Without a call or a warning, a man drove down Hannah's driveway in a rusty pickup truck, pulling a clean and like-new horse trailer. The ranch hands stood idly by as they watched the cloaked man remove himself from his truck and limp his way to the trailer hitch and from his pocket he clipped a slip of paper to one of the windows of the trailer. Without a word he turned his truck and drove away, leaving the trailer propped in the middle of the driveway.
The note read:
Dear Miss Hannah,
I have been watching you carefully now for some time and I must say I am astounded with both you and your impressive stock of Equaarus. There are few on this Island I can consider an exceptional breeder and I have marked you as one of the top five best. In this honor I have taken the liberty to give you and the other four lucky people gifts from my own herd that have exquisite lineage and I promise you will not be disappointed by the results that this mare will give you-- with the right stallion, of course! Name her as you wish. She and the four other horses were specifically bred for this moment and were only given number ID's. This mare would be known as #3 until you give her a proper name. The different numbers given to the other breeders have little to no importance, I assure you. All five horses were carefully bred to be equal in everything. Lots of money, time, and patience made sure of it. In a fortnight starting today, I will be hosting a party in your honor, along with the other four lucky islanders. I would be most pleased to have you and #3 join us.
